This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: James 4:8 (ESV)
Today, I am appreciating the small signs from God.
The small signs make me feel as though I am in intimate communication with Him. I’ve talked before about the importance of having an intimate relationship with God, and I’ll even call this a raw relationship with God. David is a good example of that.
I have also recently been talking about being in a low place and having a heavy heart. In fact, there are many times I can feel as though I am working hard and making sacrifices, and I feel like I just can’t have another thing go wrong. When this happens, I get into a dialogue with Him and ask Him where He’s been and why it seems He hasn’t been helping me.
In the past, I would suppress these feelings, but I’ve learned that it is good to have a cry with God sometimes because it shows that I am in relationship with Him. I’m also learning that being in this raw and intimate dialogue with Him keeps the intimacy of my relationship with Him alive.
Therefore, the deeper the relationship with Him, the more I see the small signs that are evident in my life all throughout the day, which keeps a peace over me. If I can have peace over the small things, I can really grow in peace over the greater things. The words I use to remind myself of this are simple: “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” James 4:8 (ESV)
Please share this reflection as others desire to be inspired.
So today, watch for the small signs.
