This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Isaiah 55:8-9 (ESV)
Today, I am thinking about the precision of God’s ways.
I talked recently about the precision of God’s timing, and I mentioned how we may sometimes find ourselves in a situation that seems so perfect that we can almost anticipate what will happen next. When that next event doesn’t come like we believed it would, we may sometimes get frustrated. However, it just comes down to the precision of the Lord’s timing.
Just as I’ve come to appreciate God’s exact timing of things, I have also begun to see the precision in God’s ways.
Recently, I reflected on the time Jesus was in the temple and the Jewish leaders failed to arrest him because, as the Scriptures teach us, the time was not right. If we take that a step further, we see that a simple arrest in the temple was not the way in which God ultimately wanted Jesus to be arrested.
When we look at how Jesus was actually arrested, we see that he was outdoors, in a grove of olive trees. He was then greeted by Roman soldiers with blazing torches and lanterns. Peter, an integral part of his inner circle, was with him as was his betrayer, Judas.
In this vivid picture, we see that although we sometimes try to figure out what door God is going to come through next, that is futile. We can’t pinpoint God’s ways, as precise as they are, because they are straight from heaven.
Let us be inspired by clinging to these words: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways…For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways.” Isaiah 55:8-9 (ESV)
Please share this reflection as others desire to be inspired.
So today, remember that God has a precise way of bringing your prayers to fruition.
