This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (ESV)
Today, I am thinking about how we create our own light.
We will often use the phrase – “light at the end of the tunnel” as an analogy about how things are going in our lives. Today, I am reflecting on what to do when we don’t see that light.
My biggest challenge to creating my own light has been my own personal mood. When I have a cloud of frustration over me, or when I’m just trying to muscle my way through something, sometimes the last thing I feel motivated to do is to think, speak and act positively.
I become so grounded in my view of my reality that I miss the opportunity to rise above it.
I have found that a sure-fire way to rise above things is through gratitude. It works like a charm every time.
I begin by simply giving thanks for the first things that immediately come to mind such as my life, my family and my relationships, etc. Slowly, this cloud of angst and frustration will start to dissipate as my gratitude grows.
The Words that I use to remind myself that what I’m going through is still serving a purpose are – “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (ESV)
Tomorrow, let’s talk about our choices. Please share this reflection as others desire to be inspired.
So today, start giving thanks for the tiniest things in your life, and witness your shift take place.
