This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Luke 6:22-23 (ESV)
Today, I am appreciating how God can work through the least among us.
Recently, I talked about Rahab the prostitute who was spared in the town of Jericho. As you may recall, before Joshua set out to conquer the town of Jericho, he sent two spies ahead and Rahab housed these spies.
The town of Jericho itself was a town of sin and a town of idolatry. Therefore, it was important to God that when Joshua conquered the town, there would be no survivors.
My own research shows that Jericho was a town of approximately 60,000 people at the time. Try to imagine that. Sixty thousand people lost their lives and the only ones spared were Rahab the prostitute and her family.
In fact, you might even go a step further. Some of Rahab’s relatives may even have thought her to be a low person based on her lifestyle. Yet, in the end, she ultimately saved not only herself, but her family as well.
In short, her story is a very encouraging one as it demonstrates how, despite what kind of life you lead and what others think of you, God may choose to work through you. It also encourages us to cling to these words: “Blessed are you when people…exclude you…Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven.” Luke 6:22-23 (ESV)
Please share this reflection as others desire to be inspired.
So today, be careful not to judge others because God has shown He will work through the least of those among us.
