This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Philippians 4:13 (ESV)
Today I am planning the creation of my personal mission statement. Recently I talked about the realization that I had when a dear friend wrote to me -“The only real thing we leave future generations is our example.”
After reading this statement, I began thinking about developing a personal mission statement. Often we will talk about serving God, yet look back over a period of time or another and realize we could have done more. This mission statement will be a way to ensure that I stay on track.
When I think about my personal mission statement, I think of this Scripture. “But my life is worth nothing unless I use it to do the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus, the work of telling others the good news of God’s kindness and love.” Acts 20:24
Thus, developing my personal mission statement will help to ensure that this Bible verse not only rests on my heart, but is evident in my actions and life choices.
This doesn’t need to be etched in stone, and I can tweak it from time to time as I desire. These are the questions that will guide me:
- In what way will I serve?
- How will I will serve?
- Whom will I serve?
- What value will my service offer.
If ever I doubt whether I can actually accomplish something or not I will turn to these Words, “I can do all things through Him Who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 (ESV)
Please share this reflection with others as they also desire to be inspired.
So today, if you’re up to it, join me in crafting your own personal mission statement.
