This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Proverbs 3:5 (ESV)
Today I am reminding myself that we never know who God will work through.
Recently, I celebrated my birthday. Several weeks prior to my birthday, I was casually talking to God and said, “Since I’ll be in New York City for my birthday this year, it sure would be nice to meet this person whom I watch frequently on television.” For the sake of privacy, I’ll refer to this individual as “Michelle.” Well, I made this statement and never really thought about it again.
Fast forward a few weeks later when I’m attending a dear friend’s wedding, and casually talking to another guest at the wedding. In the course of the conversation, I shared that I would be in New York for my birthday soon and that I sure would love to meet Michelle while I’m there.
The lady sitting across from me overhead my comments and said – “When will you be in New York? I will simply send Michelle a text to see if she’s available to meet with you.”
Of course, I nearly fell off my chair.
Surprisingly, the lady sitting across from me was also the pastor who performed the wedding ceremony. I would never have connected a pastor living in a different state with someone in media and entertainment in New York. The point is we never know who God will choose to work through.
This experience just puts into greater perspective for me these few words, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding,” Proverbs 3:5 (ESV)
So today, release the desires of your heart and know that God can work through anyone to bring them to pass.
