Our moment to Be still…to Be fed by the Word of God…to Be grateful.
Scripture reference: Ezekiel 34:26 (NLT)
TRANSCRIPT:
Today I am acknowledging the importance of letting go of the past, and ushering in the new. I will say that Spring cleaning is one of those tasks that I can appreciate once it is done, but sometimes it takes me a very long time to get started.
In the spirit of jump starting my effort, I am reflecting on the fifty year jubilee that the Israelites used to celebrate. This was a period of just pure celebration and renewal for them. For example, any unpaid debts were forgiven. Slaves and prisoners were set free. Any land that was taken due to an unpaid debt was released back to the original owner. There was even a rest period, if you will, for their farm land because they didn’t plant on the farm for an entire year, trusting that their sole provision would come from God. So the jubilee is symbolic of letting go of the past and, ushering in the new.
As I continue to leave my comfort for my miracle, I want to release those things that are no longer a part of my journey, and trust that God will replace my old with the new.
The Words on my heart are, “I will bless my people and their homes around my holy hill and in the proper season, I will send the showers they need. There will be showers of blessings.” Ezekiel 34:26 (NLT)
Tomorrow, let’s talk about stewardship. Visit bmoments.org and share this reflection, because others desire to be inspired.
Today, let’s release the old and usher in the new!
