This is your B moment. Your moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Acts 18:9-10 (ESV)
Today I want you to know that there is power in being unscripted.
Recently I talked about how Peter let go of his past, began to trust God evermore, and experienced the Holy Spirit working through his life. This is evident in the moment Peter went off script and boldly confronted the religious council of his day. He told them he had healed a man who had been lame for decades. Most importantly, he told them that he had healed the man in the name of Jesus Christ.
He confronted them with a bold spirit–even though he knew that they had the authority to take his life right there on the spot. When I think about how Peter trusted God in that moment to speak the truth from his heart, it reminds me of a time when a pastor remained scripted.
The pastor had a great message, but she chose to play it safe by reading strictly from her notes the entire time. I kept waiting for her to arouse my soul and to speak the words that God was putting on her heart in that moment, but she remained scripted for the entire message.
Sometimes before we can muster up the courage to go off script, we must first have the courage to confront ourselves. We must be able to trust our own voice and to allow the words that God put in our hearts to be expressed.
Today I did just that! I went completely off script. If you’ve never clicked the link to tune into the Blues to Blessings YouTube channel I am inviting you to do so today. Before you do so, remember these words: “Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, for I am with you.” Acts 18:9-10 (ESV)
