This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: James 4:14 (ESV)
Today, I am thinking about the importance of treasuring the here and now. Recently, I had a person very close to me undergo a loss. It underscored for me how each moment is precious.
I also recently talked about mastering a life lesson to the point that I could safely put a checkmark next to that box.
Treasuring the here and now, is an area that is truly still a work in progress for me. If I’m expecting a new door to open in my life, then I will often live six, or nine months ahead. I try to figure out in my own mind how everything is going to unfold.
The same is true if I am having a problem. I will say to myself, “It’s pretty bad today, so does this mean that things will fall apart six months from now?” This is really where my work lies.
I have to really focus as much as I can on the here and now. It can be something as simple as uninterrupted time with my family, or remaining present at the dinner table.
The Words that keep me grounded are, “You do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.” James 4:14 (ESV)
Tomorrow, let’s talk about loving gracefully. Please share this reflection, because others desire to be inspired.
So today, let’s stay present and treasure our life’s moment, here and now.
