This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Psalms 37:4 (ESV)
Today, I am thinking about how God can exceed our prayer requests.
I often heard the saying, “You can’t dream a big enough dream for God to answer.” Each time I would hear this saying I’d feel hopeful, but also a little guilty. I’d conclude that since I have so much to be thankful for that maybe I should just be content with what I have.
But Hannah’s story teaches me differently. Hannah was married to Elkanah, who “…loved her very much, even though the Lord had given her no children.” (1 Samuel 1:5). Elkanah also had another wife, Peninnah, who had several children for him. Hannah would often pray to God for a child, while Peninnah taunted and teased her for not having any.
One day Hannah went to the tabernacle to pray. As she was praying and crying so profusely, a priest thought she was drunk. So he condemned her.
Peninnah teased her, the priest condemned her, but God understood her. Even though God blessed Hannah with a loving husband, He also understood that she was not quite content.
Hannah prayed for one child, but God blessed her with five. She would become mother to Samuel, the first prophet of Israel, along with three more sons and two daughters. God delivered beyond her wildest dreams.
The Words that I will use to inspire me are, “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalms 37:4 (ESV)
Visit Bmoments.org and share this reflection, because others desire to be inspired.
So today, get radical with your prayer requests and see how God responds.

As my granddaughter is preparing to head off to college in a city away from home and the shelter of family, my message to her was to remember who she is in God. He’s her ever present help at ALL times. And most of all, the scripture that i shared in her card was: Delight thyself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4. God knows our heart! It gives me joy to see that we are on the same page. God Bless!
