This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today I want to encourage you that God will bring you out smelling like a rose.
Lately I have been talking with some of my friends who are also small business owners about how their income is being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Many small business owners do not have direct deposit on the 15th and the last day of each month. Instead, their income is earned on a job by job basis.
One friend is a videographer, and all of his shoots have been canceled for the next sixty days at least. Another friend is a hair stylist, and her appointment book for this week is blank.
Understandably so, they are all fixated on their own financial security. Although their businesses vary, they all have the same ultimate question: financially, will I make it through to the other side of this pandemic?
I’ve been reminding them of the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who faced their own personal crises when they chose to be put into the fiery furnace rather than worship the king’s god.
What’s interesting is that God not only delivered them, but He also ensured they were not harmed in the slightest way. In fact, when they came out, their clothes were not burned, their hair was not singed, and they didn’t even smell of smoke.
Their story is a testament to how God may allow you to go through the fire, but if you remain faithful and fixated on Him—your problem solver—rather than your problems, He will bring you out smelling like a rose.
As you reflect on that, remember these words: “When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.” Psalm 34:17 (ESV)
