Scripture references: Galatians 6:2 (ESV)
Jesus doesn’t wait for tragedy to teach mercy. In the parable of the Good Samaritan, He invites us to see beyond boundaries — to embody compassion in motion. The Samaritan didn’t just feel pity; he moved toward the wounded man, knelt beside him, and gave what he had.
Today, many in our nation face hunger as food assistance programs falter. We don’t need to wait for a crisis to act. God’s movement in us stirs mercy into motion — not just sentiment, but sacrifice.
If you’re able, consider donating to a local food bank this weekend. Your kindness may be the balm someone desperately needs.
Jesus asked, “Who was a neighbor to the man in need?” The answer: the one who showed mercy.
Let us go and do likewise.
As you reflect on that, remember these words: “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2 (ESV)
