There are moments when life spins so far out of control that all you want is for things to go back to the way they were. You crave familiar rhythms…familiar comforts. But God’s love rarely leads us backward. It leads us higher.
Think of the prodigal son. After losing everything, he must have hoped for simple forgiveness — a quiet return, his familiar bed – a sense of normalcy. But his father didn’t offer normal. He offered more. He asked for the finest robe, a ring for his finger, shoes on his feet, and prepared a feast in his name.
God meets you with that same extravagant love. He doesn’t just bring you back. He brings you forward. His love meets you on the road and carries you to places you never imagined…a life He’s been preparing all along.
As you reflect on that, remember these words — “And may you have the power to understand…how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.” Ephesians 3:18 (NLT)
