There are times when you think you know God. Maybe as Provider, Protector, Healer…and then He gently shows you there’s more. That’s exactly what happened with Martha when she was grieving her brother Lazarus. Up to this point, she only knew Jesus as Teacher and Healer.
So when He told her, “Your brother will rise again,” she said, “I know… in the resurrection on the last day.” (John 11:23-24)
But Jesus was inviting her deeper. He informed her—“I am the resurrection and the life.” (John 11:25) In other words… Martha, you’re not wrong – I am your Teacher and Healer…but there’s more.
Transformation happens the same way for you. As you walk with God, He expands your understanding of who He is and how He wants to move in your life. Let Him guide you into the new places where your light will shine even brighter.
As you reflect on this, remember these words: “No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket…” Matthew 5:15 (NLT)
