The Surprising Moment Jesus Chose to Serve

Scripture references: Matthew 20:28 (NLT)

There are days when being a blessing to someone else feels almost impossible. Your schedule is full, your mind is pulled in ten directions, and your heart feels stretched thin. You want to help, but you’re not sure you have the capacity.

In John 13, we see that Jesus was troubled because He knew His hour had come. And yet in that moment, Jesus stood up from the table, laid aside His outer garment, wrapped a towel around His waist, and began washing His disciples’ feet. He didn’t serve because it was convenient; He served because love compelled Him.

And that’s the quiet truth about becoming who God is shaping you to be: You grow into your next self not only by seeking Him, but by offering yourself to others — even in small, simple ways and maybe even running on empty.

As you reflect on this, remember these words: “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others…” Matthew 20:28 (NLT)

This has been your B Moment. Your moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
