A God Who Seems to Sit Idly By

By: Suzette | Published on: Oct 7, 2026 | Categories: Faith, The Nature of God, Trust, Walking With God | 0 Comments

Scripture references: 2 Corinthians 4:18 (NIV)

Sometimes, you pray, you work, you hope… and when nothing seems to shift, your mind starts building a story around what you see. Maybe I’m not worthy. Maybe this isn’t in God’s plan for me. I’ve done that too — taken God’s silence and turned it into a whole narrative.

The prophet Habakkuk did something similar. He looked at the injustice around him and assumed God was sitting idly by. But God’s response was startling: “For I am doing a work…” (Habakkuk 1:5) In other words, I’ve already begun. You just can’t see it yet.

And that’s the truth for us. What looks still is often full of unseen activity. God is working in the places your natural eyes cannot detect — shaping, aligning, preparing.

As you reflect on this, remember these words: “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18 (NIV)

This has been your B Moment. Your moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
