This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Habbukuk 2:3 (ESV)
Today I am thinking about how each day we are moving closer and closer to the fulfillment of the visions God has given each of us. I had this thought while I was reading the prophet Isaiah’s account of Jesus’ crucifixion.
During the time of Isaiah, Christ had not yet been born. Nonetheless Isaiah wrote, with great detail and accuracy, a riveting account of the crucifixion. It reads as if he had been standing on Calvary that day witnessing the events in person.
I can only imagine if he had shared this vision with anyone else. They may have thought Christ was coming in the next few months or the next few years, at least in their lifetime. Yet we know that Christ would not arrive for several hundred more years.
Sometimes I think we mull over our visions materializing on certain timelines to our detriment. Particular events fall into place and we feel closer than ever to realizing our dreams, but then other events do not fall into place and we feel further away than ever. But this is our limiting perspective.
Isaiah’s writings inspire me because the account he gave was accurate and it did occur. They simply happened on God’s schedule.
If God has given you a vision, know that your vision will come to pass.
The Words that I use to encourage me when I begin to doubt are,
“For still the vision awaits its appointed time;
it hastens to the end—it will not lie.
If it seems slow, wait for it;
it will surely come; it will not delay.”
Habukkuk 2:3 (ESV)
Please share this reflection as others desire to be inspired.
Today, know that you are closer than you think to your vision happening.
