This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: 2 Corinthians 9:8 (NLT)
Today, I am asking a question. Are we making room for God’s extras?
I know I sometimes catch myself interacting with God just as I would interact with a human. I want to ask for something, but I don’t want to impose. Instead, I ask for the bare minimum.
It is important to suppress this instinct though, as God wants us to ask Him for our heart’s desires. When I look to the Scriptures–both in the Old Testament and in the New–I see that God has a pattern of blessing His people abundantly.
For example, look at the feeding of the 5,000 and the feeding of the 4,000. Those events occurred at the last minute, yet there was enough food to feed everyone. In fact, there were leftovers in both instances!
In the case of Hannah, we know that the desire of her heart was to have children. However, she instead of asking for multiple children, she told God that she would be happy with just one child.
What did He do? He blessed Hannah with five children.
Through these instances, we see that it is the natural inclination of God to want to bless His children abundantly.
The words I use to remind myself of this are, “And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.” 2 Corinthians 9:8 (NLT)
Please share this reflection as others desire to be inspired.
So today, don’t ask for the bare minimum; know that your Father wants to bless you abundantly.

In my recent prayer and reflection I just spoke (to self) about aspiring and asking for “more”.
Sometimes we’re ashamed or embarrassed to ask for more, but no longer do I have that fear. I’m raising the bar on my ask!?

I can so relate to this as well. I know those times when I want to ask God for more, but will end up asking for the bare minimum. The more I study His Word, I understand that just how much God wants to bless us abundantly. Thanks for sharing!
