Scripture reference: Romans 12:2 (ESV)
Sometimes, silence isn’t punishment—it’s preparation.
Zechariah, a priest in the Gospel of Luke, was struck mute after doubting the angel’s message that he and his wife Elizabeth would have a son. But his silence wasn’t wasted. It became a sacred space for transformation.
We can imagine Zechariah like clay in the potter’s hand—his thoughts reshaped, his faith refined. By the time his voice returned, he wasn’t just obedient; he was renewed.
God often works in the quiet, when distractions fade and our hearts become more pliable. If you find yourself in a season of stillness or uncertainty, trust that something deeper is unfolding. You’re not being overlooked—the Potter Himself is forming you.
As you reflect on that, remember these words: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2 (ESV)
