Scripture references: Psalm 16:5 (ESV)
There are seasons when you pour out so much that you don’t realize how empty you’ve become. You say yes because it’s good work, and you serve because it honors God. But even holy work can drain you when you haven’t paused long enough to sit with the One who called you to it.
I recently found myself juggling multiple roles—volunteering, creating content, supporting others—until one evening I felt completely depleted. Not just tired, but stretched thin in places I didn’t even notice. And in that moment, Jesus’ words to Martha echoed in my spirit: “You are anxious…about many things…”
It reminded me that service is beautiful, but fellowship is necessary. God never asked us to run on empty. He invites us to choose the “good portion”—the quiet nearness that restores what pouring out has taken.
As you reflect on that, remember these words — “The Lord is my chosen portion…you hold my lot.” Psalm 16:5 (ESV)
This has been your B Moment. Your moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
