This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Proverbs 31:27-28 (ESV)
Today, as a mom, I am in the spirit of celebrating Mother’s Day a little early. I am specifically thinking about the myriad of ways a mother loves her child.
Sometimes a mother’s love is on display, but sometimes it is invisible or sacrificial. Other times, it’s tough love.
We see the need to stretch our children by taking them out of their comfort zones, so we take on the mentality of tough love. This is when a loving mother is seen as not so loving.
Nonetheless, she must stand her ground and hold true to her child’s growth. To the child, it can feel like a season of punishment or a season in the wilderness.
However, if we reflect on nature, we know that a tree in the wilderness will stretch its roots deeper in search of water. That is exactly what moms try to do. We try to stretch our children.
When a mom inspires her child to go deeper in order to reach higher, she’s not only impacting her child’s life, but future generations to come. Inspire a mom with these words today: “She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed.” Proverbs 31:27-28 (ESV)
So today, kick off mother’s day a little bit early, and acknowledge a mom for all of the myriad ways she shows her love.
