In Luke 7:36-50, we meet a woman who pours her heart out in a raw, uninhibited act of love and repentance. She enters the home of a Pharisee, and without any assurance of how Jesus would react, she anoints His head with an expensive perfume, offering all she had – both financially and emotionally.
What stands out is her detachment from the outcome. She didn’t come with expectations or demands. Instead, her actions were born out of sheer love and deep repentance. Jesus, seeing the purity of her heart, granted her the forgiveness her soul craved.
This story teaches us the power of wholehearted surrender. By letting go of our tight grip on specific outcomes and trusting in God’s grace, we create space for His transformative love to work miracles. Pour your heart out, and witness the blessings He pours back into your life.
As you think about that, remember these words: “For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.” Matthew 16:25
