This is your B moment. Your moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today I am encouraging you to avoid becoming too fixated on one outcome.
Did you ever get the sense God wanted you to trust Him just a bit more? This is surely the case for me. If I had to create a visual of my feelings, I would measure my ability to trust God on a color spectrum. Assume the high point of my trust is represented by a bright orange.
If my color spectrum is on bright orange, I have the feeling something great is about to unfold in my life. I am filled with so much energy and expectation about what God is about to do. Yet as time wears on and on—and on!—my trust wanes, and my expectations go from high to low. Over time, my bright orange fades to a very pale color.
When I find myself in this place, I realize I have become too mired in one outcome. Like a dog with a bone, I can become so focused on what I want for me, I forget to consider what God wants for me.
When I turn to the Scriptures, I think about the woman who gave all of herself—financially and emotionally—when she poured her expensive perfume over Jesus’ head. Detaching from her outcome led Jesus to say, “I assure you, wherever the good news is preached, this woman’s deed will be talked about in her memory.”
Have you become fixated on one outcome? If so, remember these words: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Romans 12:2 (NIV)
