This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today I am asking a question: Are you conflicted about going back to church?
Recently there has been a lot of talk in the news about the reopening of places of worship during COVID-19. Some members are eager to return while others feel conflicted. In fact, it’s been reported that a pastor and his wife from Arkansas were so eager to get back to church service and resume their various church-related activities that they just reopened.
In their eagerness to reopen, they didn’t realize they were both infected with the coronavirus. In turn, they spread the virus to about a third of the church’s members. Three people have died so far. If you are missing your house of worship, let me remind you of the conversation Jesus had with the Samaritan woman at the well.
Initially, the woman thought that Jesus was a prophet, so she asked him a number of questions. One of the questions she asked was why Jewish people insisted that Jerusalem was the only place to worship, while the Samaritans claimed the only place to worship was Mount Gerizim, where their ancestors had worshiped.
Jesus explained to her that a time was coming when it would no longer matter where one worshiped because true believers worship the Father in truth and in spirit, wherever they are. During these times, you may want to consider identifying your personal in-home sanctuary to worship because you don’t need to enter a physical building to worship God in truth and in spirit.
Tune into the Blues to Blessings YouTube channel today as I share with you my in-home personal sanctuary. Before you do, remember these words: “…true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.” John 4:23 (NIV)
