Scripture reference: James 1:4
Transcription:
In James 1:2-4, we are encouraged to “count it all joy” when we face trials, knowing that our testing produces perseverance. Reflecting on Job’s story, one day, a messenger came from the South to inform him of his property loss, and within moments, another came from the North to tell him about the tragic loss of his children. Job may have felt like he was being hit from every direction, yet he remained steadfast in his faith.
The Greek word for “testing” is “dokimion.” It means a positive test intended to make one’s faith genuine. Our trials, though painful, produce wholeness and spiritual maturity in us, which is why we count them as joy. Embrace your trials, for they are the refining fire that purifies and strengthens your faith.
As you reflect on that, remember these words: “And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” James 1:4
