This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today I am reminding you that despite your circumstances, God is always at work in your life.
Recently I shared how a girlfriend confessed to me that 2019 ended up being a very difficult year for her and that she was glad to see it go. Whether 2019 was boom or bust for you, whether it felt like your blessings were expanding or contracting, know that God was and is always at work in your life.
This point was reinforced for me as I read about the story of Sampson. Sampson was chosen by God to rescue the Israelites from the Philistines. One day, Sampson came home to his parents and said that he wanted to marry a Philistine woman, which his parents really objected to.
To put this in perspective, Sampson’s mother could not conceive. Yet the angel of the Lord appeared before her, and she ultimately gave birth to Sampson. Therefore, Sampson was their only child, and to see him marry a woman who was a pagan in their eyes was earth-shattering.
However, what they didn’t realize was that God was at work in Sampson’s life the entire time. He even caused Sampson to fall in love with the Philistine woman.
Sometimes things will happen to you for which you have no explanation. I am sure Sampson’s mother had similar feelings. Yet it is in those inexplicable times that we have to press for a deeper understanding: the fact that despite your circumstances, God is always at work in your life.
As you reflect on that, remember these words: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28 (NIV)
