This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Hebrews 12:11 (ESV)
Today I am thinking about how I can sometimes want things both ways.
For example, I may want to eat what I want, but I still want to look and feel healthy. Or, I might want to achieve amazing results, but may not be willing to put in the necessary hours to realize those amazing results.
I had this thought as I’ve been watching the Olympics this week. Watching these amazing athletes has caused me to think about the level of sacrifice and self-discipline that is required in life to pursue one’s dreams.
It’s obvious that these athletes made a choice early on, and their success has come from their unwavering commitment to their choice.
Sometimes I’ve made a choice in life and have been able to sustain my dedication. Other times, I wavered and succumbed to the temptation of having it both ways – or, as the saying goes – “having my cake and eating it too.”
These proud medalists have reminded me what’s possible when we make a choice or a commitment, and choose to stay the courses despite the twists and turns along the way.
The Words that I will use to inspire me are – “For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.” Hebrews 12:11 (ESV)
Share this B Moment, because others desire to be inspired.
So today, endure a little pain for some gain.
