This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today I am inspiring you if you feel somewhat out of balance.
Recently we talked about the importance of our daily prayer time. When I don’t start my mornings with prayer, the rest of my day seems out of balance. I’m less tolerant, less kind, and more stressed.
This year more than ever my life feels out of balance. No matter how hectic my weekdays became, I could always count on my early Sunday morning church service to revive and recharge me. However, my last church visit was in early March. There’s an imbalance in my worship.
Lately my time has also been spent soaking in the news to see where today’s coronavirus numbers are trending. There’s even an imbalance in my diet. I’m eating more unhealthy foods, and there’s no arm twisting if someone offers me a second glass of wine.
The bottom line is that I’ve been experiencing an imbalance because I’ve been spending more time dwelling on the care’s of this world and less time dwelling in the presence of God.
This is a slippery slope that King Solomon knew well. Solomon’s first downfall came when he allowed the influences of this world to pull him further and further away from God. His first downfall led to his second, which is when he allowed his heart to become divided—seeking God one day and becoming self-absorbed with the cares of his life the next.
If things feel out of balance to you, remind yourself of these words daily: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind….” Romans 12:2 (ESV)
