Scripture reference: Lamentations 3:25
Transcription:
Micah 7:7 reminds us: “But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord…” Impatience often tempts us to rush ahead, especially when life’s pressures feel intense. When the stakes feel high, we might try to control outcomes ourselves, just as Sarah did. Believing God’s promise of a son was out of reach, Sarah took matters into her own hands, asking Abraham to father a child with their servant. The result brought her heartache and discontent.
Sarah’s story shows us that impatience and self-reliance can lead to unforeseen pain. Her decision, driven by fear and impatience, ultimately taught her – and us—a vital lesson: God’s timing is perfect. When we surrender our struggles and truly wait on Him, we can trust that He will fulfill His promises in ways that are beyond our imagination and understanding.
As you think about that, remember these words: “The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.” – Lamentations 3:25
