Scripture reference: Lamentations 3:25 (ESV)
Transcription:
When God doesn’t deliver when you expect Him to, you may feel strong and determined to wait on Him one day and doubt and confusion the next day. If the stakes are high, you may even decide that time is running out and, instead of waiting on God, take matters into your own hands.
This was precisely what Sarah, Abraham’s wife, did. During that time, men gained status by the number of sons they had, and after several failed attempts at having a baby, Sarah had her servant Hagar sleep with Abraham in hopes she could give him a son.
Yet shortly after that, Sarah became very unhappy with her plan. It wasn’t until she put her faith entirely in God that she became pregnant at ninety years old, indeed a gift from God.
Do you have a high-stakes situation that you’re waiting for God to deliver on? If so, remember these words:
“The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.” Lamentations 3:25 (ESV)
