Today I want you to know how every step was worth it.
Graduation season is upon us, and the idea that every step was worth it is often especially true for graduates. I am reminded of the time my husband decided to go back to school to get his master’s degree.
On his first day, I taped the Bible verse Joshua 1:9 to the soles of his shoes. I did that because I wanted him to be reminded with each step of what Joshua 1:9 teaches us. It tells us to be strong and courageous because the Lord our God will be with us wherever we go.
It is often true that when we cross the finish line of achieving a goal we acknowledge that it was all worth it.
However, there may be parts of our journey that may feel unjust, causing us to believe that the path we’re on is not worth it. For example, I’m sure Joseph felt this way when he was sold into slavery by his brothers and was put into prison for a crime he didn’t commit.
Yet Joseph was able to remember that God is always in control, even when one of the stops on his journey was a prison cell. Joseph continued to press forward, trusting God with every step. In the end, Joseph went from the prison cell to the palace.
