This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)
Today, I am thinking that when things seem out of order, they are, in fact, in divine order.
I had this thought as I was thinking about David’s story and the two promises God made to him. The first promise was that he would get the throne, and the second promise was that he would have an everlasting family line.
However, we know that even though he was eventually named king, David wasn’t crowned until thirteen years after God’s promise. Additionally, David did have an everlasting family line, but on more than one occasion, it dwindled down to just one or two family members.
Therefore, David’s life is an inspiring example of the fact that God always honors His word.
Personally, there are two types of situations that always rattle me: if things get down to the wire, and if things don’t happen when I expect them to. Yet, David’s life shows us that even though things sometimes appear out of order, they are always in divine order.
In order to keep myself from worrying, I occasionally picture an “Out of Order” sign in my head, then replace it with “Divine Order.” This helps me to remember that all-important idea that God always has it under control.
As you create your own visual today, cling to these words: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)
Please share this reflection as others desire to be inspired.
So today, know that things are in divine order.
