Scripture reference: Proverbs 3:5-6
Transcription:
Being the time-crunched people we are, we might read a Bible verse or two, let it sink in for a moment, and then quickly move on.
The Lent Season is the perfect time to move beyond simply reading God’s Word to truly feeding on it. When you meditate on His Word, you open your heart to hear His voice and deepen your relationship with Him. God speaks to you personally through scripture, and taking the time to feed on His Word can draw you closer to Him in profound ways.
One powerful practice to enrich this experience is meditating on scripture by focusing on just a few words at a time.
Let’s apply this to two verses you likely know by heart:
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6, NKJV)
Let’s dissect these two verses into four parts, allowing each phrase to speak to you personally. Pause, reflect, and let God’s Word nourish your spirit:
- “Trust in the Lord with all your heart”
- “And lean not on your own understanding”
- “In all your ways acknowledge Him”
- “And He shall direct your paths”
Feeding on God’s Word is about more than reading—it’s about drawing closer to His heart. As you meditate on scripture, let it transform the way you trust Him, acknowledge Him, and follow the paths He sets before you. Remember, God’s Word is His direct communication to you, meant to guide and sustain you. By feeding on His Word, you’re nurturing your spirit and deepening your relationship with the One who calls you His own.
This has been your B Moment. Your moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
