This is your B moment. Your moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Psalm 37:4 (ESV)

Today I want you to know that God sees and hears you.
This idea reminds me of a conversation I had with our middle son Julian last Christmas. After our traditional Christmas brunch, we all go into the living room to open gifts. Even though they’re adults now, I am still keen on watching my sons’ facial expressions as they open their gifts.
When Julian opened our gift, I noticed a very bright smile on his face as he pulled his new peacoat from the box. What he didn’t realize was that as his mother, I saw the nanosecond half-smile before he plastered on the bright smile.
Later that evening, we both had a good laugh when I called him out on his bright smile. Then he confessed, “Mom, the coat just isn’t me. I need you and Dad to see me.” In just two words, “see me,” he had said a mouthful.
In the same way, you may wonder if God sees you when your prayer seems to go unanswered or when God answers but it wasn’t exactly what you were hoping for. Hannah may have felt the same way too; she remained barren for years after much prayer.
Here’s the irony. God saw Hannah, but Hannah couldn’t see all that God had in store for her. Hannah prayed for one child, and at the proper time, God blessed her with five. Hannah didn’t see that coming. Her son would be the first prophet of Israel—another blessing she didn’t see coming.
Be encouraged that God does see and hear you; He’s just working your blessings out in a way you can’t even envision. As you reflect on that, remember these words: “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4 (ESV)
