This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today I want you to know that God has a new gift for you.
Typically right after the Easter holiday, I get in the mood to unclutter by doing a little spring cleaning to establish order in my life. This year with the COVID-19 pandemic, my feeling that things are out of order has taken on a whole new meaning.
While I still have a desire to unclutter, I feel like there is a need to unclutter more than just my closet. I need to unclutter my thoughts, release pent up fears and anxieties, and trust that God is doing something new and I will be all the better for it. What I’m beginning to appreciate more is that in order to receive His new gifts, it’s important to unclutter by releasing those things of old.
This is what the Israelites did to prepare for their fifty-year jubilee. For example, any unpaid debts were forgiven, and slaves and prisoners were set free. This jubilee was symbolic of letting go of the past and ushering in the new.
Remember, clutter can take on many forms. While we’re under the stay-at-home order and we take time to unclutter things in our homes, let us remember to unclutter our hearts and our minds too. As you think about that, remember these words: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV)
