This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today I want you to know that God sees you striving to set a good example.
Recently we talked about what it means to be a modern-day shepherd and the importance of living in and speaking our truth. Those two parents who were gunned down in Walmart this past week could have set no higher example for their children than to sacrifice their lives for them.
Yet for most of us, we’re not confronted with a split second life or death decision like that couple. Instead, setting a good example is a continual process—something that we must strive to do day in and day out.
When I turn to the Scriptures, I can’t help but recall Peter’s life. We know for sure that Peter didn’t always set a good example. Yet the key is that he kept striving to be one.
Earlier in his life Peter didn’t have the faith to walk on water, even in the presence of Christ. Yet in Acts Chapter 9, he was able to bring Tabitha back to life. We also know that Peter denied Christ. Yet despite his transgressions, he was able to come full circle in his faith because he kept striving to be a better example.
So, keep striving to lead by a better example. If you’re like me and need to hit that reset button from time to time, hold onto these words: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” Psalm 51:10 (ESV)
