This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (ESV)
Today, I am thinking about how God awaits our supernatural response.
Recently, I was talking about my heart being heavy due to an unanswered prayer. During this time, a friend shared an excerpt from her devotional, Jesus Calling. Her timing could not have been better.
The point of the devotional was that when things seem to be going wrong, you need to trust God. When things seem out of control, thank God. These are supernatural responses that can lift us above our circumstances.
This is exactly how Jeremiah reacted. When the Israelites were exiled to Babylon, they were considered refugees, and things were very much out of control for them. However, in this chaos, Jeremiah trusted God’s word and purchased a piece of land that he knew would fall into the hands of the Babylonians.
Jeremiah wanted to show the Israelites just how much he believed in God’s word during the chaos and before God’s promises were fulfilled. His response was a supernatural one.
When things seem to be off track, it is easy to start complaining and lose hope, and thus the negative spiral begins. Instead, let us choose differently. Let us give thanks in the midst of chaos and remember these words: “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (ESV)
Please share this reflection as others desire to be inspired.
So today, know that God is waiting for your supernatural response.
