This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today I want you to be aware when God wants you to change your perspective.
Sometimes your current perspective no longer serves where God is taking you. This is the important lesson that Peter had to learn.
Peter held the firm belief that Gentiles were unworthy because they didn’t practice his strict Jewish rituals and thus could never become Christians. As a result, Peter discriminated against Gentiles.
For example, Peter would avoid eating with men who were not circumcised. He would also never enter the home of a Gentile.
God was expanding the church to include both Jews and Gentiles but could not use Peter in this great work until Peter changed his discriminatory views. To open Peter’s eyes to a new perspective, God used Cornelius—a devout man of God who was also a Gentile.
One afternoon, an angel of the Lord sent for Peter to visit Cornelius’ home. A few days later, Peter arrived but told him it was against Jewish law to enter a Gentile’s home.
Yet while Peter was there, he witnessed the Gentile speaking in tongues. He knew in that moment that the Holy Spirit was present and fell upon both Jews and Gentiles alike.
Is God waiting on you to begin to see things differently? If so, remember these words: “[No one] pour[s] new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst… No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.” Matthew 9:16-17 (NIV)
