This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today I am encouraging you that God wants you to trust Him at every turn.
According to Forbes, last week’s jobless claims rose to 30 million due to COVID-19. Texas has a population of 29 million, meaning that there are more people in this country who are currently unemployed than who live in the entire state of Texas. For many families, this economic devastation feels like new territory.
I know a couple in their early 60’s, and their household has always had a steady stream of income. She owns a salon, and he is a musician. Today, their incomes have been decimated, and this feels like new territory for them. When so much change happens so fast, it can feel dizzying. You may feel you no longer know what’s true.
When I think about these times, I am inspired to turn to the book of Hebrews. Hebrews answers for us why we should trust that God will sustain us at every turn. Hebrews is a letter to early Christians who were being persecuted due to their belief in Christ. Due to that persecution, many Jewish Christians were considering leaving their Christian faith and returning to the safety of Judaism.
Hebrews urges them to stay the course and to trust God at every turn. Hebrews 6 tells us that God bound Himself with an oath to ensure that He would never change His mind. Therefore, when He tells you that He will supply every need of yours, this is more than mere words—or even a promise. It is His binding oath.
As you reflect on that, remember these words: “The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him, my heart trusts, and I am helped.” Psalm 28:7 (ESV)
