This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
Today, I am thinking about how God is working it out, but in a grander way.
Sometimes, I need to be reminded of this because there are times I expect God to come through one door, or believe He’s going to deliver within a certain timeframe, and He doesn’t. During these times, I need to be inspired that He will answer my prayers.
The truth is, He’s going to answer in a grander way than I could have ever imagined.
When I turn to the Scriptures, I think of none other than Hannah. Hannah prayed to God for years for a child. This was made even harder because she was married to Elkanah whose other wife could bear children. Elkanah’s other wife constantly teased Hannah about being childless, which only added to Hannah’s heartbreak.
One day, Hannah was even thought to be drunk in the synagogue because one of the priests witnessed her crying and praying so profusely. However, she was simply pleading with God that her prayers would be answered.
Yet after Hannah’s years of faithfulness, God still did not deliver in the way and in the timeframe that Hannah had prayed for. He delivered in His own time, but He delivered in a much grander way than Hannah could have believed.
Hannah not only had one child, but she had five! One of those children even became the first prophet of Israel.
So today, let us be encouraged that while God may not be working something out according to our timetable, He’s working it out in a much grander way for us. Let us cling to these words: “For I know the plans I have for you…plans to prosper you and not to harm you.” Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
Please share this reflection as others desire to be inspired.
So today, know that it is happening in a grander way.
