This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today I am encouraging you that God will answer the secret petitions of your heart.
Sometimes when we pray, we may just pray to God for the basics. For whatever reason, we may hold back from asking Him to answer the deepest desires of our hearts. But as Psalm 139 teaches us, God knows your thoughts from afar, so surely He knows the secret petitions of your heart, and this is what He will answer for you. This is exactly what He did for Joseph.
As you may know, Joseph had been unjustly imprisoned for years, so he continually prayed for his release. One day while in prison, Joseph interpreted the cupbearer’s dream. In turn, the cupbearer was supposed to help Joseph get out of prison. Yet he soon forgot all about Joseph. It wasn’t until two years later that the cupbearer remembered Joseph and referred him to the king.
In the natural realm, this two-year period of inactivity can cause you to think that your prayer will never be answered. This may even be the reason you avoid going deeper to ask God for what you really want. Yet in the spiritual realm, God was not only answering Joseph’s prayer, He was exceeding it.
Joseph just asked to be released from prison, yet his deepest desire was to be released from prison and to be reunited with his family. God answered all of that and even made him governor and gave him a loving wife and children.
Be encouraged that God is answering the secret petitions of your heart by remembering these words: “And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.” 1 John 5:14 (ESV)
