This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Hosea 6:3 (NLT)
Today I am in awe at how God can break up to make up.
Do you remember this saying from your dating days? Break up to make up. This usually meant that the break up of the relationship wasn’t permanent, but it was a tactic used by one person to get the other person’s attention.
As the COVID-19 pandemic becomes more of our new normal, I can’t help but think that God is allowing us to become somewhat broken to get our attention. In Hosea 6, the prophet teaches us that the Lord has torn us to pieces, now He will heal us. He has injured us, now He will bandage our wounds.
You may ask, “Why is God trying to get our attention?” Only God knows this answer, but my hunch is because He has become less of a priority in our lives. We have begun to quench our thirst from so many other sources, forgetting that He is the living water—that water we can drink from and never thirst again.
Recall the exchange Jesus had with the Samaritan woman at the well. When she learned about his living water, she forgot all about the water she fetched from the well and ran back to tell her entire town.
Is Christ trying to get your attention today? Holy Week is the perfect time to go deeper or to turn back to Him. Tune into the Blues to Blessings YouTube channel today as I share 3 more helpful insights on this very topic.
Before you do so, remember these words: “…Let us press on to know Him. He will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn.” Hosea 6:3 (NLT)
