This is your B moment. Your moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today, I am thinking about how God will give you a whole lot of do-overs.
I had this thought as I was recently studying in the book of Psalms. Psalm 103:13-14 reads: “The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust.”
Reading that passage gave me such encouragement because sometimes we can be so hard on ourselves. Sometimes you may think you’ve learned your lesson about something, but God knows that it may take you another five times to endure that lesson before you master it. So, it is important to understand that God is patient; He is a god of second chances.
This reminds me of the beautiful exchange Jesus had with the Samaritan woman. As they were talking, Jesus asked her out of the blue to go and get her husband. The woman had to confess that she didn’t have a husband. Jesus responded by saying that he knew the truth was that she had had five husbands in the past and that she wasn’t even married to the man she was currently living with.
This passage reaffirms for us that Jesus was still embracing this woman despite her mistakes. He was teaching her with love even though she appeared to be making the same mistake over and over again.
Sometimes we may think that we’ve had so many chances to get something right that we’re not even worthy of another do-over. As a result, we judge ourselves and hold on to guilt. So today, let’s lose guilt and hold onto these words instead: “…I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.” Isaiah 43:25 (ESV)
