This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Psalm 20:6 (ESV)
Today, I am reminding myself about how God can turn any situation around.
In this series, we’re focusing on all of the ways God will move to comfort us. One way He does this is by turning a situation around no matter how dire it seems.
Recently, we talked about King Hezekiah’s reign and how he genuinely trusted in the Lord. Yet fourteen years into his reign, an enemy king named Sennacherib came against Judah, causing serious challenges for Hezekiah. God answered Hezekiah’s prayer for help by taking care of Sennacherib.
However, shortly after Sennacherib died, Hezekiah became ill and the prophet Isaiah, whom Hezekiah trusted deeply, told him the Lord said, “Get ready, for it is time for you to die. You will not recover from this sickness.”
To this, Hezekiah said, “Lord, please remember how I have walked before you and have been faithful with my whole heart. I have done what is good in your sight.”
Before Isaiah left, God gave him a new set of instructions to relate to Hezekiah. The Lord said, “Behold: I will heal you and add fifteen years to your life and continue to keep you safe from your enemies.”
From this story, we see that even when death is on the line, God can turn a situation around. Today, let us cling to these words: “Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the saving might of His right hand.” Psalm 20:6 (ESV)
Please share this reflection as others desire to be inspired.
So today, wait for the Lord to turn it around.
