This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Ephesians 6:11 (ESV)
Today, I am thinking about how we use our energy when we believe we have been wronged by someone.
Perhaps this person’s actions have caused you to end up in a place you otherwise wouldn’t be. We can make that case for Joseph’s life.
First, Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers due to their jealousy of him. Next, he was thrown into prison after being falsely accused.
Yet when I read the Scriptures, it is never stated or even intimated that Joseph ever retaliated or contemplated retaliation.
In fact, when Joseph was finally confronted by his brothers years later, they were all consumed with the idea that Joseph might want to take their lives. But he only wept for them and told them that God turned into good what they intended for evil.
The same can be true for you. God will turn into good what someone else intended for evil. However, you must do your part by not allowing their ill intentions to usurp your energy in the meantime.
Here is the key. Seldom do we end up actually retaliating. We simply become preoccupied with the idea of getting back at another. Therefore, it is important to let go of these feelings.
If you’re in this place, shift your energy by following these two steps. First, sincerely release this situation into God’s hands. Second, thank Him in advance for turning what was intended for evil into your good.
As you do that, remember these words: “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.” Ephesians 6:11 (ESV)
Please share this reflection as others desire to be inspired.
So today, know that God is turning any evil toward your good.
