This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Proverbs 3:5 (ESV)
Today, I am thinking about how we never know who God will work through.
I had this thought as I was looking through some fun pictures of my birthday from last year. It was a significant birthday, so I was planning on going to NYC to celebrate with my friends and family.
A couple weeks before my birthday, I was casually talking to God about it, and I mentioned that there was a particular person in the entertainment world that I would love to meet. As soon as I said those words though, the thought left my mind.
Three weeks later, I attended a dear friend’s wedding. While I was at brunch the following day, I casually shared with one of the other guests that I was going to be in NYC for my birthday the following weekend, and that I would love to meet this specific person.
The lady sitting across from me overheard our conversation and asked me when exactly I would be in NYC and when I would want to meet this person. She said that she could simply text her to see if she was available to meet me.
Needless to say, I nearly fell off my chair.
The point of this story is just how unexpected God’s ways can be. The woman sitting across from me was the pastor who performed the wedding ceremony, so I never would have connected her to someone in the entertainment world in NYC. Yet she actually knew her.
The whole experience was a reminder that we never know who God will work through. That is why I always keep this scripture at the front of my mind: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5 (ESV)
Please share this reflection as others desire to be inspired.
So today, be open to who God might work through in your life.
