Scripture reference: 1 Corinthians 13:11 (ESV)
Transcription:
When God delays answering your prayers, you may initially make a concerted effort to keep your hope strong and your heart and mind in the right place.
Yet, your faith may wane over time as you slowly adopt the belief that God will not answer, so it’s time to move on.
I wonder if similar thoughts crossed Mary and Martha’s minds when they called for Jesus, and he didn’t come, and their brother Lazarus died.
The Scriptures teach us that Jesus’ delay was intentional. They saw him as a healer when Lazarus was ill, but once he restored his life, they would now see him as the life and the resurrection.
The next time you’re waiting for God to answer, see it as your opportunity to evolve spiritually and expect to see God in a new light.
As you reflect on that, remember these words: “When I was a child…I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways.” 1 Corinthians 13:11 (ESV)
