This is your B moment. Your moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today I am reminding you that God’s love endures despite your actions.
As much as today’s message is for you, it really is for me. If you listen to B Moments regularly, you know I follow politics like a hawk. For an entire week, I have been consumed by the news, flipping back and forth between the channels, poring over the election results.
I finally came up for air today, and I felt a bit guilty because I had been missing my morning prayer time. I had to remind myself that God’s love for me will endure, in spite of the fact that I had been missing my worship time with him. His love for us endures while we’re living in the dark places—and possibly making poor choices.
When I think about this, I think about Peter’s life. One day, Jesus was asking the disciples who people said the son of man was. Some of them replied John the Baptist and others said Elijah.
Then, Jesus asked the disciples who they said he was. Peter said that Jesus was the Messiah, the son of the living God. Jesus told Peter that he was blessed because only Jesus’ Father in heaven could have revealed that to him.
The key is that God chose to reveal this to Peter even when he knew Peter would later deny Him.
Let’s appreciate the fact that God’s love and grace are sufficient to endure despite our actions—even when we’re still making poor choices. As you think about that, be comforted by these words: “But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (ESV)
