This is your B moment. Your moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today, I am encouraging you with a question: How well are you taking care of God’s real estate?
Imagine that God is the landlord, and you are the tenant. How well are you taking care of His property? This thought came to mind when I met with a woman the other day who I had not seen in about a year. To say the least, she looked fantastic.
She shared with me that in terms of her health, she had nearly hit rock bottom, and she knew she needed to lose weight. She said that for the first time her question to herself was not how many pounds she needed to lose; while that was surely a factor, there was something deeper brewing in her spirit.
She had to confess to herself and God that if her entire being— body, mind, and soul— was a gift from God, she was not doing a good job of taking care of it. When she reached this level of understanding, she shifted her thinking on the spot, and her actions soon fell in line.
So far, she’s lost about thirty pounds, and while she looks visibly smaller, she has an inner glow about herself, which involves much more than shedding pounds.
When I turn to the Scriptures, I see that when Elizabeth became pregnant with John the Baptist, she went into seclusion for five months. Elizabeth did not take God’s gift for granted.
Are you treating yourself with care by getting sufficient rest, exercise, drinking enough water, releasing negative thoughts, and extending small acts of kindness? All of these things nurture your mind, body, and soul.
As you think about that, remember these words:
“You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (ESV)
