This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.
Scripture reference: Joshua 1:5 (NLT)
Today, I am thinking about succeeding in God’s strength.
Lately, I have been studying in the book of Joshua. In the beginning of the Scripture, we know that Joshua had just stepped into Moses’ shoes—a predecessor unlike any other in his charisma, leadership, and connection to God.
Therefore, it’s easy to imagine that initially, many of the tasks that God assigned to Joshua felt daunting. Yet God always assured him that He was there to help him execute the tasks.
One day, as Joshua was approaching the town of Canaan, a place inhabited by giants, a transition took place.
It was then that God was no longer a coach on the sideline, telling Joshua which plays to execute. Instead, He actually put on the jersey Himself and stepped out onto the field with Joshua as the quarterback. In other words, when Joshua needed strength, God willingly stepped up on the field.
When this happens, the outcome is set, and the situation is resolved. If there is a battle, that battle is won.
Today, think about that situation in your life where you need to succeed and know that it is not possible without God’s strength—but that with God’s strength, success is assured. This Scripture contains the same words God said to Joshua, words I believe you and I need to remember as well: “No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live…I will not fail you or abandon you.” Joshua 1:5 (NLT)
Please share this reflection as others desire to be inspired.
So today, succeed in God’s strength.

I don’t always have the opportunity to hear your blogs on Urban Praise but visit the website when I believe the Spirit of God speaks to my heart. Today He silently impressed the idea on my heart to receive a word. I’ve noticed that people don’t leave comments much but I don’t point this out as a criticism but to make a point. Though your blog isn’t the only source in which God has been using to train me up it’s been instrumental. Another words we might not realize how God might be using us to greatly bless a brother or sister in Christ or unbeliever for that matter. Especially someone God plans to use in profound ways. Thank you for be faithful it’s not in vain!

Kevin –
I’ve read your post a few times as it has really touched me. Sometimes when I go through great lengths to prepare material and I garner only a few “likes” or comments I can sometimes question if I’m on the wrong track, or as you describe it — if my efforts are “in vain.” Thanks for the reminder that it’s not the human validation that I should be seeking, but rather knowing that God is using me according to His Will. Thanks for this beautiful reminder. In His Service, Suzette
